Do you know the way to San Jose?
Well if you don’t now, you will soon. Its really close by. But not walking distance, so if you would prefer to stay somewhere close to us, then there are loads of options. And, although this might not be a selling point to some of you – we’d love to have you close by, that way we get to spend extra quality time with you!
We are looking to reserving rooms at the Rivermark Hyatt, which is attached to our apartment building, but if thats not your style there are loads of other options close by. Here is a quick list for you:
In case you haven’t been to this part of town (or these United States in general), we recommend renting a car. I promise, as someone without a license, I can say with all honest that public transport isn’t quite what you are used to. So, when we moved here we rented a car through a company called Alamo, but most of the rental companies are easy to work with. Just remember we do drive on the other side of the road over here and that they are a litigious mob – so think about insurance – although most credit cards have coverage included (although you should check that out through your bank).
Our Place
We live in a glorious apartment complex called 550 Moreland. Its called that because we are in 550 Moreland Way Santa Clara. Here is a map of the area with our place pinpointed on it.
Tidbit
Santa Clara is a forty five minute drive from San Francisco’s city centre,forty five minutes from Santa Cruz (mountains and beaches) and about an hour and a half from Napa, Monterey and Carmel. There’s also lots to see, do and eat in the area itself.
