Staying in Santa Cruz

Kick your feet up after the wedding

Wondering where to stay?

Santa Cruz is about 45mins from our home, and if you are staying close to us, your hotels too.  So we are staying overnight in the area to save any extra schlepping on the day!

We will be staying overnight at the Hilton in Scott’s Valley after the wedding. If you stay at the Hilton with us, there will be a shuttle that will ferry us all there. I wonder if they will let us hang some of those “just married” cans off the back of the bus?

We have made a group booking at the Scott’s Valley Hilton already for close family, but we could only hold 25 rooms and not many are left. So, if you would like us to make a reservation for you or add you to our list of rooms booked already, please let us know before September 1st.

If not and you would like to explore other options, here is a quick list for you (with their blurbs – we cant vouch for any of them!):

  • Quality Inn – The hotel is nestled among towering redwood trees, next door to Howden Castleand overlooking the San Lorenzo River.
  • Best Western Plus – An ideal location puts guests within close proximity of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk,
  • A bunch of smaller boutique B&Bs – This a link to Yelp where they have a whole bunch of B&B suggestions.

There is also an option to stay at the Venue in some of their little cabins. Click through to take a look –  Stones and Flowers Cabins. If you are interested in them let us know and we can organise your stay with the property manager.

The day after it all began…

We are planning on spending the next day in Santa Cruz. Those hung over, or even those looking for a little adventure are welcome to join us. The beach is lovely – even though the water is nothing short of frigid, the boardwalks are worth strolling down and the fish and chips will most definitely hit the spot. There is also the famous amusement park too which might be fun – depending on your last night.
